Mission

Idylwood Presbyterian Church is a welcoming Christian congregation. Thankful for God’s grace and enlivened by the Holy Spirit, we aspire to demonstrate the inclusive and expansive love of Jesus Christ to neighbors near and far. 

We are a small, vigorous congregation with members from all around the nation and world. We are blessed with talented musicians, teachers, gardeners, cooks, and builders. Our members include students, artists, engineers, lawyers, medical professionals, government employees, and more.

We seek to share the love of Christ with one another and with neighbor and stranger alike. We care for one another in times of need, such as illness or death, but also in ordinary day-to-day activities like babysitting for each other's children, social occasions in each others' homes, or sharing the bounties of summer gardens and meals out together. 

We are a congregation in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Read more about what the PC(USA) believes and how it makes a difference in the world here. Our local affiliation is with the National Capital Presbytery, a regional collection of more than 100 churches in the greater Washington DC area.
